🛡️ 2. Quality & Safety Standards
- Pasteurization: Required in most countries to kill pathogens.
- Somatic Cell Count (SCC): Indicates udder health. Standard:
- < 200,000 cells/ml (EU, US Grade A limit is 750,000 but under 400k is preferred)
- Total Bacterial Count (TBC):
- Typically < 100,000 CFU/ml for raw milk.
- Adulterants: Should be free of water, urea, starch, detergents, etc.
